Hall of Fame Focus Story

Greg Rinaldi competed on the men's lacrosse team from 1987 to 1990 and was one of the top goal-scorers in program history. He scored 144 career goals, which stood as the program record upon his graduation and is currently second all-time. Rinaldi also recorded 178 points, which is eighth all-time.

In 1990, Rinaldi scored 48 goals, which is second all-time in Rutgers' single-season history. He still holds a share of the program's single-game record with 10 goals in a game versus Lehigh that season, while his eight tallies versus Bucknell in 1987 is third most ever by a Scarlet Knight in a single contest.

Rinaldi was a three-time All-American, earning Third Team honors in 1988 and 1989 along with First Team honors in 1990. Following his senior season in 1990, he was selected to play in the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game.

A two-time captain and four-year letterwinner, he was a two-time winner of the team's MVP (William Miller Trophy) and was named the Targum Athlete of the Year in 1990. He also was recognized for international competition as an alternate for Team USA.

Rinaldi captained the team to a NCAA Tournament berth in 1990 with a 10-5 record. In his four years 'On the Banks', the Scarlet Knights won 35 games, the third most victories by any Rutgers lacrosse class. He was previously inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame - Upstate New York Chapter.
