Rutgers Gymnastics Drops Decision to North Carolina State

RALEIGH, NC – The Rutgers gymnastics team (0-2, 0-2 EAGL) fell to North Carolina State (1-0, 1-0 EAGL) on Saturday night in Raleigh, NC, by a score of 192.400-189.300.
For the Scarlet Knights, senior Nicci Bradder (Dover, NH) and sophomore Beth Fittery (Denver, PA) tied for first place in the all-around with 38.150 points.
Fittery also led RU in the floor exercise, placing third with a score of 9.700, while Bradder tied for fourth with a 9.650. Freshman Amanda Apadula (Sewell, NJ) tied for sixth place on the floor with a score of 9.525. Bradder also took fourth on the balance beam, scoring a 9.525 to lead the Scarlet Knights’ rotation. Fittery finished sixth (9.425) on the beam, followed by sophomore Jacki Campbell (Wheatley Heights, NY) in seventh (9.350).
On the bars, sophomore Lorena Johnson (Lilburn, GA) and freshman Stephanie Pannick (Archbald, PA) tied for sixth place with a score of 9.525 and on the vault, Fittery finished tied for fifth with a score of 9.550, followed by Bradder and Pannick in a tie for seventh (9.525).
The Scarlet Knights return on Saturday, Jan. 22, for their home opener at the Livingston Recreation Center. RU will compete in a tri-meet against James Madison and Cortland State.
