Rutgers Wrestling Drops Season-Opening Dual Match at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Rutgers wrestling team dropped its season-opening dual-match to Navy on Friday night, 42-0. The Midshipmen used bonus points on eight out of 10 bouts to defeat the Scarlet Knights in the 21st meeting between the two teams.
Matt Pletcher (Eastampton, N.J.), at 165 pounds, dropped a close 4-1 decision to Navy's Robert Johnson, while Mike Whalen (Lake Hiawatha, N.J.) was the only other Scarlet Knight to fall by decision, dropping a 7-0 bout to Matt Stolpinski.
Rutgers will travel to State College, Pa., on Sunday, Nov. 3, to participate in the Penn State Open. Action is slated to begin at 8:00 a.m.
