Rutgers Gymnastics Competes at 2006 NCAA Northeast Regional

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Rutgers University gymnastics team tallied 188.975 points to finish sixth at the 2006 NCAA Northeast Regional on Saturday, April 8, on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.
Michigan won the meet with 196.000 points, followed by Utah in second with 195.700 and Auburn in third (193.050).
On the vault, freshman Latara Northcutt (Snellville, GA) led the Scarlet Knights as she finished tied for 19th place with a 9.700. Junior Beth Fittery (Denver, PA) took 31st with a 9.500, while junior Jacki Campbell (Wheatley Heights, NY) tied for 32nd with 9.475.
Northcutt also tied for 19th on the uneven bars, scoring a 9.575 and senior Lauren Sisler (Newport, VA) tied with Fittery for 25th place as they each posted a 9.425.
Northcutt scored the Scarlet Knights highest finish of the evening, tying for ninth place on the balance beam with a 9.775. Following Northcutt was junior Casey Santangelo (Cherry Hill, NJ), who tied for 19th with a 9.650, while classmate Lorena Johnson (Lilburn, GA) tied for 22nd (9.600).
Fittery posted a 9.675, tying for 18th place to lead Rutgers on the floor exercise. Santangelo tied for 24th with a 9.625 and junior Kelly Straka (Fairless Hills, PA) finished 29th with a 9.550.
