Rutgers Releases 2008 Gymnastics Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Head gymnastics coach Chrystal Chollet-Norton has announced her team's schedule for the 2008 season. The Scarlet Knights will begin competition Jan. 5, hosting the first of five meets at the newly-renovated Livingston Recreation Center.

The Scarlet Knights will then hit the road for a pair of away meets at the University of Pennsylvania and George Washington on Jan. 12 and Jan. 20, respectively.
Rutgers rounds out the month of January at home against Temple on Jan. 30 at the Livingston Recreation Center - a team the Scarlet Knights defeated three times last season.
The Scarlet Knights will open the month of February on the road at Pittsburgh on Friday, Feb. 1, before returning to host Cortland the following Saturday (Feb. 9). RU owns a perfect 5-0 record against the Dragons of Cortland, defeating them 190.20-183.525 on the road last season.
Rutgers hits the road for a Saturday meet with Yale in New Haven. Conn., before hosting West Virginia, Bridgeport, Rhode Island and Ursinus College, the following weekend at the Livingston Recreation Center.
The Scarlet Knights will split their first two meets in the month of March, traveling to Cornell on Saturday, March 1, before a home meet against Towson a week later on Saturday, March 8.
A quad meet in Morgantown, W. Va. is next on the slate for Rutgers with the Scarlet Knights facing the Mountaineers, Minnesota, and New Hampshire on Saturday, March 15.
RU will round out its regular season in State College, Pa. in a tri-meet with Maryland and Penn State on Friday, March 21.
The East Atlantic Gymnastics League Championships will be held, Saturday, March 29 in Morgantown, W. Va, while the NCAA Regionals will be two weeks later, culminating with the USAG Nationals in Shreveport, La., April 17-20.
Chollet-Norton begins her 22nd season at the helm of the Scarlet Knights in 2008 after leading the 2007 squad to another successful season. Rutgers posted 15 victories for the third time in the past five seasons and earned sixth place at the EAGL Championships. The team also qualified for the NCAA Regionals as well as the USAG Championships.
