Rutgers Opens Season With Oklahoma-Brockport Gold Tournament

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers wrestling team, under the guidance of second-year head coach Scott Goodale, will compete in its first team tournament of 2008 with the Oklahoma-Brockport Gold Tournament, Saturday in Brockport, N.Y.
Rutgers will face stiff competition, as the teams entered in this year's tournament include No. 11 Edinboro, No. 18 Central Michigan, No. 22 Oklahoma, No. 24 Kent State, Army and Hofstra. The tournament will feature 24 preseason-ranked Division I wrestlers, including 12 ranked among the top-ten in their weight class.
The competition will be the first for RU’s freshmen: Zachary Coulas (Ocean, N.J.) at 133, Matt Fusco (Belleville, N.J.) at 125, David Seidenberg (Red Bank, N.J.) at 141, Scott Winston (Jackson, N.J.) and Greg Zannetti (Edison, N.J.) at 157.
After Saturday’s tournament, Rutgers returns to the mat on Nov. 15 to compete in the Binghamton Open in Binghamton, N.Y.
