Rutgers to Face No. 9 Lehigh at College Ave. Gym

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Rutgers wrestling team (11-3, 4-0 EIWA) will face its toughest test of the season when it faces No. 9 Lehigh (8-0, 1-0 EIWA), Saturday at the College Ave. Gym at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free to the public.
The Scarlet Knights are looking to begin their conference schedule 5-0 for the first time since 1960-61, when it opened its EIWA slate 6-0. RU has been led by 141-pound redshirt sophomore David Greenwald (Union, N.J.), who is first in the nation with 14 pins. Freshman Scott Winston (Jackson, N.J.) is 18-4 at 157 and is tied for third in the nation with seven major decisions. Redshirt sophomore DJ Russo (Netcong, N.J.) is seventh in the nation with 20 wins, a career-high.
Lehigh is ninth in the country, its highest ranking since December of 2005. The Mountain Hawks have four ranked wrestlers in Trevor Chinn (No. 11 at 149), Mike Galante (No. 17 at 164), Alex Caruso (No. 16 at 174) and Joe Kennedy (No. 20 at 197). Lehigh is 3-0 against ranked opponents, including an 18-13 win over No. 7 Oklahoma State on Nov. 29 in the Journeyman/Brute Duals.
Rutgers is looking for its second all-time victory against Lehigh. Last season the Mountain Hawks defeated RU 24-13 in Bethlehem, Pa. RU and LU each have faced Princeton this season, as the Scarlet Knights earned a 38-6 victory over the Tigers on Dec. 6 while the Mountain Hawks picked up a 41-3 win over PU on Nov. 23.
