Rutgers Wrestling Ready for Final Match of the Season

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers wrestling program, under the guidance of first-year head coach Scott Goodale, will face non-conference foe Drexel in its final match of the season on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7:00 p.m. at the College Ave. Gym. The Scarlet Knights (10-7, 5-3) are coming of a 29-6 home loss to Navy on Friday, Feb. 15. Drexel (10-13) went 1-1 in a home tri-meet on Feb. 15, defeating Columbia 22-19 before falling to Binghamton 27-9.
The Scarlet Knights have three twenty bout winners, Lamar Brown (Red Bank, N.J.) is 20-11, Matt Pletcher (Eastampton, N.J.) is 24-6 and Steve Adamcsik (Chester, N.J.) is 22-6. The Dragons are led by 125-pounder Steve Mytych, who is 32-4 on the season with 12 major decisions. Senior Ryan Hluschak is 27-4 at 157-pounds with eight major decisions.
Thursdays match is also senior night, as Adamcsik, Dan Hilt (Manalapan, N.J.), Ryan Jablonski (Norristown, N.J.), Rob Kaiser (Fairfield, N.J.) and Jamie Lijo (Stanhope, N.J.) will all be honored prior to the contest. Admission is free to the public.
