12 Rutgers Gymnasts Earn All-Academic Honors

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Twelve Rutgers gymnasts were named to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) 2008 All-Academic Team, the group announced on Wednesday.
There were a total of 87 gymnasts honored on the EAGL All-Academic Team. The Scarlet Knights' 12 honorees were one shy of league-leaders New Hampshire and West Virginia.
Senior Jacquelyn Verdon (Freehold, N.J.) is a four-time All-Academic honoree, while juniors Kristy Behr (Northport, N.Y.), Elizabeth Bohnsack (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Jessica Haddaway (Baltimore, Md.) and Alison Hartwig (Wayne, N.J.) are three-time All-Academic selections. The list below includes all 12 EAGL All-Academic selections from Rutgers in 2008.

To qualify for the EAGL All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the two previous semesters or a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Freshmen are also eligible, if they earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.
Rutgers will be in State College, Pa. this Friday for a 7:00 p.m. meet with Penn State, Maryland and Nebraska.
