Sevarino Earns All-EAGL Honors

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Rutgers sophomore gymnast Laura Sevarino (Cheshire, Conn.) was named a East Atlantic Gymnastic League Second Team All-Around competitor by the league's coaches at the annual awards banquet Friday night.
Sevarino has competed in eight meets for Rutgers this season, missing the last four with an injury. She led the Scarlet Knights in the all-around with an average score of 37.559. In her last meet of the regular season on Feb. 23, in a five-team meet at the Livingston Recreation Center, she scored a career-best 9.800 on the vault. Sevarino also had a season-high 9.775 on the floor exercise in the second meet of the season Jan. 12 at Penn.
In her eight meets, she averaged a 9.722 on the vault, a 9.641 in the floor exercise, a 9.338 on the balance beam and an 8.859 on the bars.
The sophomore was also honored as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League MVP for Rutgers. A member of each school is named an EAGL MVP.
Rutgers will compete in the EAGL Championship tomorrow at the WVU Coliseum on the campus of West Virginia University.
