14 Rutgers Gymnasts Earn EAGL All-Academic Honors

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Fourteen Rutgers gymnasts were named to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) 2009 All-Academic Team.
There were a total of 97 gymnasts honored on the EAGL All-Academic Team. Rutgers, along with New Hampshire, and West Virginia, had the second most honorees in the conference behind NC State (16).
Seniors Kristy Behr (Northport, N.Y), Jessica Haddaway (Baltimore, Md.) and Alison Hartwig (Wayne, N.J.), earned All-Academic honors for the fourth straight year, while fellow senior Latara Northcutt (Snellville, Ga.) made the team for the third time. Northcutt was joined by juniors Prishani Seebadri (Wenonah, N.J.) and Laura Sevarino (Cheshire, Conn.) as three-time All-Academic selections. The list below includes all 14 EAGL All-Academic selections from Rutgers in 2009.

To qualify for the EAGL All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the two previous semesters or a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Freshmen are also eligible, if they earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.
Rutgers will travel to Towson, Md. Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. meet with Towson, Southern Connecticut State, William & Mary, and Bridgeport. t will be Rutgers’ final meet of the regular season, before the EAGL Championships in Raleigh, N.C. Saturday, March 21.
