Rutgers Wrestling Season Opener to be Held at the RAC

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 12, 2010) - The Rutgers wrestling team announced today that its season opening double dual with Sacred Heart and East Stroudsburg will be held at the Louis Brown Athletics Center (The RAC) on Sunday, Nov. 7.
"We wanted to do it in Franklin Township because they wanted us there, so we tried to coordinate with them, but unfortunately it just didn't work out," said head coach Scott Goodale. "There's a volleyball match at College Ave. so we'll get another chance to wrestle at the RAC. So now we'll have four matches at the RAC and we're obviously excited about that."
Rutgers opens its 2010-11 campaign when it battles the Sacred Heart Pioneers at 4 p.m. Following a brief break, RU will return to the mat to take on the East Stroudsburg Warriors at 6 p.m. The day will start with Sacred Heart taking on ESU at 2 p.m.
Rutgers returns nine of 10 starters from a 2009-10 squad that finished at No. 22 in the final 2009-10 NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll after posting a 19-5-1 record. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights 2010-11 roster will feature nine wrestlers with prior NCAA Championship experience.
