PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 12, 2010) – The Rutgers wrestling team will hold an open practice for fans this Sunday, Oct. 17, at the College Ave. Gym. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and will give fans a chance to see the Scarlet Knights in action before their intersquad dual on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
“We’ll put down two mats, have some scoreboards and wrestle some live matches,” said head coach Scott Goodale. “It’s open to the public, so anyone who is interested in coming out will see a good practice with some high intensity and a lot of wrestling.”
Rutgers, which opens its 2010-11 campaign on Nov. 7, returns nine of 10 starters from a 2009-10 squad that finished at No. 22 in the final 2009-10 NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll after posting a 19-5-1 record. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights 2010-11 roster will feature nine wrestlers with prior NCAA Championship experience.
