
Rutgers Wrestling Ranked 15th in First NWCA Coaches Poll

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (November 3, 2011) - The Rutgers wrestling team was ranked 15th in the first NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll for the 2011-12 season. The Scarlet Knights return seven dual starters and six NCAA qualifiers from last season's record breaking squad. RU won a program-best 21 duals in 2010-11.
The Scarlet Knights (T-15th) are the fourth highest ranked EIWA team in the top 25 poll, joining No. 5 Cornell, No. 6 Lehigh, American (T-11th) and No. 25 Penn.
The NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll Committee is made up of one coach from each conference. Polls are released weekly on www.nwcaonline.com.
Rutgers begins the 2011-12 wrestling season on the road at the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Classic on Saturday, Nov. 12. The Scarlet Knights' first home dual is set for Friday, Dec. 2 against Old Dominion at 6:30 p.m. in the RAC.
