PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers gymnastics has announced that Erin McLachlan has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Scarlet Knights. A native of Bradford, United Kingdom, she will enroll in January and participate in the upcoming campaign.
"We are really excited to add Erin to our roster for this coming season," head coach Louis Levine said. "She is a powerful gymnast with great lines and flexibility. She has a fair bit of international competition experience that should serve our team well. We expect her to have an immediate impact on several events."
A member of the Scottish National Team since 2011, McLachlan has achieved success on all four events. She recently placed fourth all-around at the 2016 Northern European Championships with a silver medal on balance beam to help the team place sixth. In 2014, she led the squad to silver at the meet with a gold on balance beam, a silver on floor exercise and a bronze on vault. In addition, McLachlan took home gold all-around at the 2013 Scottish National Championships with a gold-medal all-around performance that included first place on uneven bars, floor exercise and vault, while taking second on balance beam. She followed that with a gold on balance beam and a silver on vault at the 2014 Scottish National Championships.
McLachlan additionally competed with the British junior squad from 2011-12 and earned a bronze on vault at the British Espoir Championships.
