Munson Finishes Sixth at Rider Invitational

PENNINGTON, N.J. - Sophomore Dominick Munson finished sixth overall as Rutgers men's cross country placed fourth with a team time of 2:06.49 at the Rider Invitational Friday night in Pennington, New Jersey. Four Scarlet Knights crossed the finish line within the top 25 of participants to cap an impressive night in Rosedale Park.
Siena captured the team title with a mark of 2:05.10. Marist finished second with a result of 2:05.17, while The College of New Jersey had a time of 2:06.21, good for third.
Munson continued his strong start to the 2016 campaign, producing a sixth-place time of 24:57.07 with an average mile of 5:01.1. The Erial, New Jersey, native was the second Scarlet Knight to cross the finish line in RU's season opener Sept. 10 at the Spiked Show Invitational in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Junior Luke Wiley and senior Nicholas Price joined Munson within the top-15 of finishers Friday night. Wiley contributed a 12th-place time of 25:09.54 and Price added a 14th-place result of 25:11.95.
Junior Trent Brinkofski finished 25th in the heat with a time of 25:23.10. Alexander Livernois, Andrew Comito, Jason Schweizer and Ryan Gross also contributed to the team total.
