No. 7 Rowing Earns Major Conference Awards

Price Named Coach of the Year and Colclough Freshman of the Year
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 7 Rutgers was recognized with pair of postseason conference awards as Justin Price was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year and Beatrice Colclough chosen as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Colclough was also selected to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team, joining classmate Femke de Witt. The award recipients were selected through a vote of the 11 conference head coaches.
Price, in his eighth season, guided the Scarlet Knights to a second-place finish at the 2025 Big Ten Championships, the team's highest placement in program history. Rutgers compiled 239 points with medals in all seven races, led by six silver medals in the Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4, 2nd Varsity 4, 3rd Varsity 4, and 3rd Varsity 8.
Colclough is the second Scarlet Knight to collect Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors, joining Hannah Heideveld who accomplished the feat in 2021. Colclough was a member of the 2nd Varsity Eight that earned a silver medal at the conference championships. Femke de Witt, who rowed on the silver medal Varsity 4, earned a spot along with Colclough on the Big Ten All-Freshman team.
The conference announced the All-Big Ten Teams and Sportsmanship Award honorees at the conclusion of the 2025 Big Ten Rowing Championships last Sunday. Hannah Heideveld, Lily Wood, and Lauren Andersen have been named All-Big Ten First Team, while Chiara Saccomando and Elli Arbogast earned All-Big Ten Second Team accolades. Madison Cancro was the recipient of the team's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
Rutgers will return to the NCAA Championships for the sixth consecutive season after earning an at-large bid during Tuesday's selection show. The Scarlet Knights are seeded at No. 9 in the 2nd Varsity 8 and at No. 6 in both the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4.
