
Bonds, Krewson, Meglio Named Big Ten Players to Watch

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Big Ten announced its 2026 Players to Watch on Wednesday, with OF Peyton Bonds, OF Chase Krewson and INF Charlie Meglio all receiving preseason honors from the conference.
Bonds is set for his second season on the Banks in 2026, after hitting .300 with five home runs and 40 RBIs a season ago. Bonds played in all 57 games, making 56 starts in centerfield. He added 10 doubles, stole 16 bases and scored 49 runs. His list of preseason honors also includes being named the No. 9 2026 MLB Draft Prospect in the Big Ten and the No. 117 outfielder in the country by D1 Baseball.
Krewson joins the Scarlet Knights after a season each at UCF (2025) and Duke (2024). Across 91 games at the collegiate level, Krewson owns a .304 batting average, .804 OPS, six home runs, six home runs, 36 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
Meglio transferred to RU this summer from Campbell, where he was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team as a freshman and hit 21 home runs, 21 doubles, 69 RBIs and 78 runs scored in his two seasons with the Fighting Camels.
Rutger opens the 2026 campaign on Friday at College of Charleston, with the season opener set for 4 p.m. Friday.
