
Men's Golf Finishes 13th at Linger Longer

GREENSBORO, Ga. – Rutgers men's golf returned to action at the Linger Longer Invitational, finishing 13th overall at 11-under-par after three rounds at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
The three-day, 54-hole event was co-hosted by Kennesaw State and Mercer and featured a strong 18-team field.
Georgia captured the team title at 47-under-par, while Rutgers posted a solid team performance against a lineup that included Alabama, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and USF.
Sophomore Bennett Espensahde continued his strong spring play, leading the Scarlet Knights at 3-under-par to finish tied for 19th overall. Jeffrey Zatorski followed with an even-par-plus-one performance, finishing tied for 34th.
Argyle Downes carded a 4-over-par tournament to tie for 46th, while Daniel Martinez Regal finished tied for 59th at 5-over. Lucas Politano rounded out the Rutgers lineup, placing tied for 82nd at 10-over-par.
Rutgers competed in a deep field that included Kennesaw State, Mercer, West Georgia, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Vanderbilt, USF, Jacksonville, Louisiana Tech, Elon, Kentucky, Ohio State, Charlotte, South Alabama, UNCG and Wofford.
The Scarlet Knights now look to build on the performance as they continue the spring schedule. The Scarlet Knights will continue their spring schedule on Saturday, April 18 at the Hoosier Collegiate hosted by Indiana University before heading to the Big Ten Championships in North Plains, Oregon on May 1.
