
Leese Sets Vault Record as Gymnastics Wins Pink Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – Rutgers gymnastics posted a 195.925 at the Pink Invitational in Philadelphia on Saturday night, picking up wins over Penn, Yale and West Chester in the quad meet.
Emily Leese posted a 9.95 on vault, setting a program record and a new career high in the process.
The Scarlet Knights were propelled by a season-high 49.175 on bars and eclipsed 49 on three-of-four events at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
RU began the meet on bars, getting strong contributions all throughout the lineup. Each of the last four competitors scored above a 9.8, with Gabrielle Dildy posting a career high with a 9.925. Donna Uhlenberg led off with a 9.775, Matis Rains earned a 9.800, Delaney Adrian contributed a 9.825 and Reagan Schenkel anchored with a 9.850. The team score of 49.175 was also the fifth-best in program history.
On beam, the Scarlet Knights posted a 48.700, with Rachael Riley leading the way with a 9.825.
Saturday marked yet another meet with Rutgers going above 49 on floor, highlighted by a pair of big scores to close out. Uhlenberg led things off with a 9.800, which Adrian matched laster on. Dildy earned a 9.875 before Emily Leese anchored with a 9.925, tying a career high and marking her best score of the season.
The Scarlet Knights closed things out on vault, scoring a 49.000. Schenkel (9.800) and Dildy (9.850) both posted strong scores. Leese anchored with a 9.950 to set the school record.
