
Five Football Game Times Announced

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The first five game times for 2026 Rutgers football were announced by the Big Ten and television partners on Wednesday. As part of the announcement, the home matchup against Howard moves to Friday, Sept. 25.
The Birthplace of College Football opens the Big Ten football schedule on week one for the third straight season as the Scarlet Knights host UMass on Thursday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
Rutgers travels to Boston College for a matchup on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Both programs will pay tribute in marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
The Scarlet Knights begin Big Ten play Saturday, Sept. 19 with a home game presented by Motorola Solutions versus USC at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. The schedule continues the following Friday (Sept. 25) at 7 p.m. against Howard on Big Ten Network, presented by GGL Injury Lawyers. Taking place at The Rutgers Boardwalk, presented by VisitNJ, Eric LeGrand will lead the pregame parade to celebrate the 16th annual "A Walk to Believe."
The three-game homestand wraps up hosting Indiana for Homecoming & Family Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 3, presented by RWJBarnabas Health. The game will start at 8 p.m. Add to the fun with a special Homecoming & Family Weekend pregame tailgate right outside of SHI Stadium. Enjoy games, family-friendly activities, exclusive giveaways, Rutgers VIP sightings and more before cheering on the Scarlet Knights.
In addition, Rutgers' Oct. 17 matchup at Maryland was announced as a start time no later than 5 p.m. and will be confirmed in the weeks leading up.

Single game tickets are available now for the matchups against Howard and Indiana. Season ticket holders will be able to purchase single game tickets for remaining home games on Monday, June 8. Single game ticket sales for the general public will go on sale on Tuesday, June 16.

Rutgers returns All-Americans OL Kwabena Asamoah (25 straight starts), WR KJ Duff (1,084 receiving yards) and RB Antwan Raymond (1,241 rushing yards) to the roster. The offense averaged 407.1 yards per game in 2025 for the program's best mark since joining the Big Ten. In the classroom, the Scarlet Knights set program highs with 65 student-athletes named Academic All-Big Ten and a 3.43 team GPA during the fall semester, while leading the nation with 21 named to the Hampshire Honor Society.
