Lu Finishes Play at 126th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. – Grace Lu from Rutgers women's golf wrapped up play at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, held at The Honors Course on Wednesday in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
Competing in an elite field featuring 40 of the world's top 100 amateur golfers and five ranked in the top 10, Lu fired off a one-over-par 73 in the second round of stroke play to close out her first U.S. Amateur Championship. Lu rolled in three birdies during round two to highlight action at the high-profile event.
"We are proud of Grace's performance this week at the U.S. Women's Amateur," said head coach Kari Williams. "She carried herself well on the biggest stage and played some stretches of excellent golf on a championship course. Grace had an incredible summer of tournament play and those experiences will be valuable as she prepares for our fall season."
Lu was the first Scarlet Knight to reach the event since Leigha Devine in 2022. She secured her spot by co-medaling at her June qualifier at Copper Hill Country Club with a 3-under-par 69. Lu carried strong momentum into the tournament, having recently claimed a semifinal appearance at the 101st New Jersey Women's Amateur and a runner-up finish at the Women's Met Open.
A 2025-26 Big Ten Golfer to Watch, Lu closed last season with a 73.50 adjusted scoring average across 35 rounds and 12 tournaments. Lu fired off seven top-20 finishes, five top-10 results, and placed in the top five twice last season.
