Eddie Nickerson joined the Rutgers University Athletic Department in January 2023 and currently serves as Associate Director of Facilities & Events. In his role, Nickerson oversees the facilities and events operations for volleyball, wrestling, baseball, and men’s and women’s golf. He has also led numerous capital projects, including a new locker room for the baseball program and a series of facility enhancements to Bainton Field.
Nickerson arrived at Rutgers after spending nearly two years at High Point University, where he served as Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities & Operations. While at High Point, he helped coordinate the setup, breakdown, and in-game operations for 45 varsity athletic events, including the 2022 Big South Women’s Lacrosse, SoCon Men’s Lacrosse, Big South Volleyball, and Big South Track & Field Championships.
Before his time at High Point, Nickerson spent more than a year at Lenoir-Rhyne University, first as a Graduate Assistant of Facilities & Game Day Operations before being promoted to Assistant Director of Facilities & Game Day Operations. In that capacity, he led and coordinated operations for more than 200 varsity athletic events, including the SAC Championships and an NCAA Lacrosse Regional. He also managed student workers, coordinated facility usage, and oversaw facility maintenance and renovation projects.
A native of North Carolina, Nickerson earned his MBA from Lenoir-Rhyne in December 2023. He previously received his bachelor's degree in science in sports studies from East Carolina in December 2020.
