Giants Activate Former Rutgers Standout

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Former Rutgers standout Raheem Orr has been placed on the active roster by the New York Giants.
Orr, who received the Homer Hazel Trophy as the Scarlet Knights’ Most Valuable Player following the 2003 season, was signed to the Giants practice squad on Oct. 20. He was a seventh round pick of the Houston Texans in the 2003 NFL Draft.
A graduate of Elizabeth High School, Orr capped an outstanding career at Rutgers by being named first team All-BIG EAST as a defensive end in 2003. He led all BIG EAST defensive linemen in tackles (82) as a senior, and also finished first in the Conference in tackles for loss (19.5) and was second in sacks (8.5).
