RU Women's Soccer Finishes 13th in NSCAA Poll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's soccer team was ranked 13th in the season-ending poll by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The Scarlet Knights finished the season 16-3-4, 8-1-2 in the BIG EAST, and earned their highest-ever ranking, earning the 12th slot in the Nov. 7 poll.
Soccerbuzz picked the Scarlet Knights 11th in its final poll, as Rutgers appeared in the organization's rankings for seven-straight weeks for the first time in school history. In the Mid-Atlantic regional poll, Soccerbuzz ranked the Scarlet Knights second, behind only Penn State.
In the final poll by SoccerTimes (Nov. 7), RU was picked 15th, while in its season-ending poll, Somis Sports rated the Scarlet Knights 17th nationally.
Rutgers finished the season with a program-best 16-3-4 record, including a mark of 8-1-2 in regular-season conference play. With 16 shutouts, the Scarlet Knights broke the single-season record for shutouts in a season and also posted the most wins in school history. Earning a spot in the BIG EAST Championship playoffs, Rutgers advanced to the title game for the first time in program history, falling to top-ranked Notre Dame, 4-2. The Scarlet Knights also earned their fourth bid to the NCAA Championship tournament in 2006, advancing to the second round.
