• The 16th-ranked Rutgers wrestling team begins its home dual schedule for the 2011-12 season with Old Dominion on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the RAC.
• The Scarlet Knights enter the contest with ODU after posting a 2-1 record at the Northeast Duals in Troy, N.Y. RU scored victories over North Carolina (33-9) and Purdue (28-15), before falling to Central Michigan (16-15).
• Rutgers hits the mat in the hunt for its first dual win over Old Dominion. The short series history stands at 0-1-1.
• Two Scarlet Knights wrestlers, Mario Mason (Moorestown, N.J.) and Greg Zannetti (Edison, N.J.), sport identical 6-0 overall records thus far in the 2011-12 season.
• Mason and Zannetti, at 149 pounds and 174 pounds, respectively, posted 3-0 marks in RU's three contests at the Northeast Duals. Teammates Scott Winston (Jackson, N.J.) at 165 pounds and Daniel Rinaldi (Lodi, N.J.) at 197 pounds also were perfect in the event.
• In his fifth season leading the Scarlet Knights, head coach Scott Goodale has compiled a 73-22-1 dual record.
Rutgers and the Old Dominion Monarchs
• Rutgers has faced Old Dominion twice in program history, holding a 0-1-1 mark against the Monarchs. The RU-ODU series resumes Friday for the first time since 1987.
• The Scarlet Knights have the opportunity even the all-time series with ODU at 1-1-1 with a dual victory.

Scouting the Monarchs
• Old Dominion has compiled a 4-1 dual mark thus far in 2011, notching wins at Chattanooga (31-9), vs. Buffalo (24-15), vs. Cleveland State (29-9) and over No. 18 Iowa State (21-16).
• The Monarchs' lone dual loss came against No. 13 Ohio State (30-3). Tristan Warner picked up Old Dominion's lone victory, winnng by decision over OSU's Derek Garcia, 6-4.
• ODU's Scott Festejo (133 pounds), John Nicholson (157 pounds) and Te Edwards (174 pounds) are tied for the team-lead in dual victories with four each.
• A sophomore, Nicholson has compiled an 8-2 overall record at 157 pounds. His losses thus far are to Virginia Tech's Jesse Dong (TF, 15-0) and Ohio State's Josh Demas (3-2).
• Edwards, a senior, holds an overall record of 8-1 at 174 pounds. His lone loss was to Ohio State's Nick Heflin by decision, 13-6.
RU Gets Two Wins at Northeast Duals
• The Rutgers wrestling team began dual competition for the 2011-12 season with two wins at the Northeast Duals on Sat., Nov. 26 in Troy, N.Y. RU defeated North Carolina (33-9) and Purdue (28-15) before falling in a tightly contested dual to Central Michigan by a score of 16-15.
• The Scarlet Knights (2-1) saw standout performances from 149-pounder Mario Mason (Moorestown, N.J.), 165-pounder Scott Winston (Jackson, N.J.), 174-pounder Greg Zannetti (Edison, N.J.) and 197-pounder Daniel Rinaldi (Lodi, N.J.). The four Scarlet Knights posted unblemished 3-0 records in the event.
Scarlet Knights Ranked 16th in W.I.N. Magazine Poll
• The Scarlet Knights were placed as the 16th-best dual team in the country in W.I.N. Magazine's Nov. 28 rankings. RU had four individuals in the poll.

• The Rutgers wrestling team was ranked 17th in Intermat's latest team rankings, while placing four individual wrestlers in the weight-by-weight rankings. The Nov. 29 tournament-strength ranking allotted the Scarlet Knights 28.5 points to place the squad as the fourth-highest EIWA team.
