Scouting the Pride
• The Pride return one 2014 NCAA qualifier this season - 149-pounder Cody Ruggierello. Ruggierello went 1-2 at last year's NCAA Championships and finished the year 26-12 overall. Jamel Hudson, who wrestled at 133 pounds last season, is wrestling up at 141 pounds in 2014-15. He posted a 16-4 overall mark last season. Both Hudson and Ruggierello are the only two Pride members to enter the weekend with perfect 2-0 records.
• As a team, Hofstra is 1-1 to start the season, most recently falling against Lehigh, 27-9. The Pride opened the year with a 17-16 comeback win against Lock Haven, winning four of the final give matches to complete the come-from-behind victory.
Series vs. Hofstra
• Rutgers is 12-9-1 all-time against Hofstra. The Scarlet Knights pulled out a 22-21 win by criteria last season on the road, earning the tie-breaking point as RU edged the Pride in pins, 2-1.
