Seven Place at Nittany Lion Open

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Seven members of the Rutgers wrestling team placed competing unattached Sunday at the Nittany Lion Open, hosted by Penn State. Freshman 133-pounder Anthony Giraldo (Guttenberg, N.J.) and sophomore 141-pounder Tyson Dippery (Harrisburg, Pa.) each finished as runner-up in their weight class.
Full Results Redshirt sophomore 184-pounder Anthony Pafumi (Westfield, N.J.) secured the next-best finish among Scarlet Knights by taking third. Also placing was redshirt freshman 125-pounder Josh Patrick (Rector, Pa.) in fourth, freshman 149-pounder John Van Brill (Mullica Hill, N.J.) in fifth, redshirt freshman 157-pounder Dylan Painton (South Plainfield, N.J.) in sixth and redshirt senior 165-pounder Nick Visicaro (Long Branch, N.J.) in eighth.
Giraldo placed in his third open of the year after winning the East Stroudsburg Open (Nov. 16) and finishing third at the Clarion Open (Nov. 2). Dippery also placed for the third time this season, picking up a title at East Stroudsburg and the second-place spot at the TCNJ Open (Nov. 22).
Van Brill, Patrick and Pafumi each became placewinners for the second time this season.
