Rowing Takes Three of Five Events Against Holy Cross, MIT

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Rutgers women's rowing had a strong outing Saturday against Holy Cross and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as the Scarlet Knights' Second Varsity 8, Second Varsity 4 and Novice 8 all posted victories on Lake Quinsigamond.
RU's First Varsity 8 finished second behind Holy Cross and ahead of MIT, while RU's First Varsity 4 ended the day behind Holy Cross.

"The team had a solid performance as they continue to improve their boat speed from week to week," said head coach Max Borghard. "The Second Varsity 8 had the biggest jump in performance by taking a lead in the first 500 meters and pushing out to more than a boat length over Holy Cross and MIT."
Rutgers competes in the Eastern Sprints in Camden, N.J. on Sunday, May 3, the squad's final tune-up prior to its first trip to the Big Ten Conference Championships from May 16-17 in Indianapolis, Ind.
