Ali, Pogarch, McClelland, and Wright named to All-North Region Teams
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Four Scarlet Knights of Rutgers women's soccer were named to United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-North Region Teams, including sophomore Amirah Ali (First Team), Madison Pogarch (Second Team), Meagan McClelland (Third Team) and Kenie Wright (Third Team).
The total marks the most selections for RU since the historic 2015 campaign that included the program's first ever trip the College Cup. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights have had two or more players recognized for four consecutive seasons.
This season, the quartet guided Rutgers to its best league finish in program history, finishing as runner-up for the Big Ten regular season title. The Scarlet Knights qualified for their seventh straight NCAA Tournament, ninth in the last 11 seasons, and 13th time overall. RU also finished the regular season ranked in the Top 25 for the fifth consecutive year.

All-North Region First Team
Amirah Ali, a 2018 First Team All-Big Ten selection, paced the league in the regular season in total goals (10), game-winning goals (5), and finished second in total points (23). The Voorhees, New Jersey, native had a hand in seven of RU's 12 conference goals as the Scarlet Knights recorded their best Big Ten finish in history.
The forward netted four golden goals in OT and assisted another in a program-record six extra time victories, all of which came in Big Ten play.
Last season, Ali was named the 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, earning Third Team All-Big Ten, Big Ten All-Freshman, and All-Region Second Team, as well.

The Hartland, Michigan, native earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping RU post two overtime shutouts against then-No. 14 Northwestern and Illinois. Both of those games ended in victory, fueling the Scarlet Knights' 6-0-5 overall overtime record this season.
Pogarch was named Third Team All-Big Ten, picking up an all-conference honor for the fourth straight season. The back transferred to RU as a two-time All-MAC recipient and All-Freshman selection.
