PISCATAWAY - Women's golf travels to the Evergreen State to compete in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 8-9, at Sahalee Country Club. The 11-team event is the fourth of the fall season for the Scarlet Knights, who are coming off a record-setting performance in Kentucky.
Senior Carrie-Ann Lee, juniors Harriet Allsebrook and Eun Won Park, sophomore Maeve Rossi and freshman Anna-Maria Diederichs will comprise the RU travel party for the second straight tournament under head coach Kari Williams.
RU will compete on the par 72, 5,970-yard course against a strong field that features host Washington, San Francisco, UC Davis, Idaho, Nebraska, Long Beach State, Cal Poly, Sacramento State, BYU and Seattle.
The Scarlet Knights carded a program-record 281 during the final round to place second with an 874 (295-298-281) total at the 13-team Bettie Lou Evans Invitational last weekend. Rutgers topped its previous best round by three strokes, as Lee finished as runner-up in the 75-player field with a three-under 213 (71-75-67).
RU's trip to the Pacific Northwest is its third straight. Last season, the team placed fifth with a 902 (300-298-304) total at the Edean Ihlanfeldt. Three Scarlet Knights finished among the top 20 in the 68-player field to help Rutgers place ahead of Georgetown, BYU, San Francisco, Long Beach State, Iowa, Seattle and Hawaii.
After a practice round on Monday, 36 holes will be played on Tuesday, with a final round on Wednesday. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.
