PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football's
Bo Melton was added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. announced Thursday. The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award.
Melton is up to 334 receiving yards after posting a career-high 150 against Illinois. He registered two touchdowns for his second-multiple score game of the season. The wide receiver has picked up a first down or touchdown on 14-of-20 receptions in 2020 and has a catch in 16 consecutive games dating back to last year.
In addition, Melton leads the Scarlet Knights with 458 all-purpose yards, with 114.5 per game ranking fifth in the Big Ten. He added a touchdown on a 58-yard punt return to make it five total scores on the season, second-most in the league.
The last Scarlet Knight to earn a spot on the Biletnikoff Award watch list was Leonte Carroo in 2015.
Rutgers returns to SHI Stadium Saturday to host Michigan (7:30 p.m., Big Ten Network). The game is presented by RWJBarnabas Health.
