PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football P Adam Korsak officially accepted the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s top punter at the All-CRSA Football Awards Show held Tuesday in Augusta, Georgia. The event included a banquet hosted by the Augusta Sports Council.
Korsak capped his career with the Scarlet Knights winning the first on-field national award in program history. The Ray Guy Award evaluates punters on their overall statistics and contribution to the team. Particular emphasis is placed on the following statistics; net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line and percentage of punts not returned.
The NCAA all-time leader in punting attempts (349) and yardage (15,318), Korsak led a unit that held opponents to minus 11 return yards in 2022, best in the nation, with just one positive return against in 75 attempts. The Aussie pinned a national-best 32 punts inside the 20 to help Rutgers rank third overall in net punting (43.57).
Korsak recently participated in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and will next showcase his skills at Rutgers Pro Day scheduled for March 21.
