FIRST QUARTER
Rutgers held Maryland to just a field goal in the first 15 minutes of action, allowing just 37 yards in the opening quarter. DL Aaron Lewis recorded a sack to highlight the defensive action heading into the second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER
Rutgers orchestrated a season-long 17-play, 75-yard scoring drive that spanned two quarters and 8:45 of game play. Kaliakmanis completed eight passes during the drive, including a 12-yard touchdown to Strong on a crossing route in the end zone. The play put the Scarlet Knights up 7-3 with 8:21 remaining in the half.  Maryland regained the lead thanks to its own 75-yard scoring drive, but RU's offense responded with another touchdown. Rutgers marched 75 yards in just nine plays, with Monangai punching it in from two yards out to give RU a 14-10 advantage at the half.
THIRD QUARTER
The Terrapins received the opening kickoff of the second half and took a 17-14 lead on a one-yard touchdown rush. The Scarlet Knights once again answered with their third straight scoring drive of the contest. Monangai finished an 11-play, 75-yard drive with his second touchdown of the game – this one from six yards out to put RU up 21-17.  Rutgers forced a Maryland punt with 4:21 left in the quarter and began another scoring drive that extended into the final frame.

FOURTH QUARTER
With Rutgers driving into Maryland territory to close out the third quarter, Kaliakmanis opened the fourth with a 32-yard touchdown strike to Miller to extend the lead to 28-17. On the ensuing Maryland drive, Loyal delivered a jarring hit that forced the ball into the air and into the hands of Thompson, who secured the diving interception to give the Scarlet Knights possession. The play set up a 46-yard field goal from PK Jai Patel to put Rutgers up 31-17 with 10 minutes left. The Rutgers defense forced the ball over on downs on the next two possessions to help close out the sixth victory of the season.
