Pair gives the womenās squad the second and third school records of the outdoor season
PRINCETON, N.J. and GAINESVILLE, Fla. ā Rutgers distance runner Alex Carlson broke her second school record of the outdoor season and pole vaulter Chloe Timberg reset her own outdoor record, capping a historic weekend at the Larry Ellis Invitational. The Scarlet Knights sent a group to the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Florida, wrapping the split weekend with six top-three finishes and 10 total performances on the top-10 all-time list.

A holder of four individual school records entering the weekend, Carlson improved upon the previous 5,000-meter record by more than 30 seconds. Carlson won the event with a time of 15:53.14, shattering the nearly 22-year-old record set by All-American Julie Culley at the ECAC Championships on May 17, 2002.
Ā
The school record holder in both indoor and outdoor, Timberg topped her previous mark and set the Larry Ellis Invitational meet record as she cleared the bar at 4.56m (14' 11.5"). The Scarlet Knights picked up a win in the men's pole vault with Noah Kriesman finishing first with a height of 4.95m (16' 2.75"). Brian Pedretti finished third in the 5,000-meter, running a time of 14:31.19 which ranks fifth all-time. He was joined by Kyle Rakitis, who finished seventh and ran a top-10 time of 3:50.64.

At the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, the Scarlet Knights were guided by several standout performances. Konstantinos Bouzakis finished third in the discus invite with a throw of 60.20m (197' 6"), which ranks as the third-best distance in program history and is the top throw in the Big Ten. Andrew Krall also placed third in the hammer with a mark of 58.82m (193'), while on the women's side, Charlee Crawford finished second in the 400-meter with a time of 54.13.
Rutgers will next compete on Saturday, April 20 at the UofSC Open in Columbia, South Carolina and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
