No. 9 Rowing Wins Doc Hosea Invitational

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - No. 9 Rutgers rowing won five grand finals to claim the Doc Hosea Invitational on Saturday on the Cooper River.
All five grand final victories came against No. 12 Penn, among others in the 12-team Doc Hosea Invitational field. The Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4, 2nd Varsity 4, and 3rd Varsity 8 all won their morning heats and outraced No. 12 Penn in the grand finals.
The 2V4 victory was ahead of another Rutgers boat - the 3rd Varsity 4A - who also outpaced Penn to take second in the grand final.
Notable open water time differences in the grand finals came from the V8 (+7.6), the V4 (+8.3), the 2V4 (+11.1), and the 3V8 (+7.4). The 3V4A finished 9.9 seconds ahead of third-place Penn.
The 12-team field included Bucknell, Drexel, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Navy, Northeastern, No. 12 Penn, Rhode Island, St. Joseph's, Temple, and Villanova.
Rutgers takes a weekend off from competition before the Big Ten Invitational on Fri. and Sat., April 18-19 in Sarasota, Florida.
