Scarlet Knights set a school record for second-straight weekend
Raleigh, N.C. and Miami – Rutgers track and field split the weekend, sending the distance group to the Raleigh Relays on the NC State campus, while the remaining squad competed at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational on the campus of Miami.
The Scarlet Knights broke school records in the second-straight week as Brian O'Sullivan and Alianna Eucker delivered the highlights of the weekend. The pair both improved on the records previously held in their respective events.
O'Sullivan cleared 5.38m (17' 7.75") in the pole vault to establish a new Rutgers record, while Eucker threw the javelin for a new program best distance of 50.89m (166' 11").
Rutgers turned in top marks in several other events, including a win in the women's 4x400-meter relay as Success Duruzor, Charlee Crawford, Paige Floriea and Anabella Chin ran 3:38.29 in the event. Duruzor and Crawford joined Naylah Jones and Abby Love to finish second in the 4x100-meter relay in 45.49. Floriea also finished second in the long jump, recording a mark of 6.04m (19' 9.75").
Also on the track for the men, Lathan Brown took second in the 400-meter hurdles in 52.58, Yashahya Brown placed third in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.13 and Daniel Duncan finished fifth in the 100-meter in 10.71.
Daniel Arana placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.48m (47' 6.25") and took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 7.17m (23' 6.25").
On the women's side, Jenovia Logan finished third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.70m (5' 7"). Alanna Woolfolk placed fourth in the event with a height of 1.70m (5' 7"). Tey'ana Ames finished third in the shot with a throw of 14.00m (45' 11.25") and took fourth in the discus with a throw of 41.33m (135' 7").
The Scarlet Knights return to action on Saturday, April 5 for the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton.
