No. 7 Rowing Earns Best B1G Championships Result With 2nd Place Finish

Rutgers medaled in all seven grand finals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – No. 7 Rutgers rowing scored its best Big Ten Championships result in team history with a second-place team finish on Sunday at Eagle Creek Park.
The Scarlet Knights earned a medal in all seven races while compiling 239 points, led by six silver medals by the Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4, 2nd Varsity 4, 3rd Varsity 4, and 3rd Varsity 8. No. 2 Washington won every race and the Big Ten Championships title with 264 points.
The V8 closed the championship regatta with the most exciting race of the weekend, finishing second to No. 2 Washington by less than a second with the highest point total of the weekend on the line. Earlier, the 2V4 was also within a few strokes of No. 2 Washington, earning silver just 1.6 seconds behind the Huskies.
The 2V8 was six seconds behind Washington, while the V4 was in contact with the Husky boat throughout their race, finishing second with a 3.3-second margin.
Five Scarlet Knights from the Varsity 8 earned All-Conference awards for their efforts at the championship regatta. Hannah Heideveld, Lily Wood, and Lauren Andersen have been named All-Big Ten First Team, while Chiara Saccomando and Elli Arbogast have earned All-Big Ten Second Team. Madison Cancro has earned the team's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
The Scarlet Knights will look to earn an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Championships, which will be announced during the selection special on Tues., May 20 at 5 p.m. on ncaa.com.
