COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Rutgers football (2-4, 1-2) went on the road and beat Maryland (2-5, 0-4), 37-30, on Saturday at SECU Stadium. The Scarlet Knights have now won three straight against the Terrapins, including the last two in College Park.

QB Dylan Lonergan passed for a season-high 291 yards and three touchdowns, finding WR KJ Duff twice and RB Clay Thevenin for touchdowns. Duff Jr. hauled in nine passes to tie a career high, totaling 113 yards. It was his third game of the season with multiple touchdown catches, and his nine receiving touchdowns this season tie him for the fifth most in a season in program history.

Thevenin rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown, his first 100-yard rushing game as a Scarlet Knight.

LB Sean Allison totaled eight tackles to pace the defense, while DB Bradlee Jones broke up two passes and had a tackle for loss and DL Sekou Kromah picked up his second sack of the season.

FIRST QUARTER
After Maryland scored the opening touchdown of the game to make it 7-0 early, Lonergan found Duff Jr. in the corner of the end zone on a highlight-reel catch to make it 7-7 after one quarter of play.

SECOND QUARTER
Maryland scored with 10:46 left in the half to go up 14-7. Duff Jr. responded with his second touchdown of the day with 4:18 to go, but the Terrapins blocked the PAT and returned it all the way for two points, making it 16-13. After the hosts scored on the ensuing drive, it was 23-13 UMD at the half.

THIRD QUARTER
The Scarlet Knights flipped the script in the second half, rattling off 24 unanswered points to turn a 10-point deficit into a 14-point lead.

PK Dane Pizzaro converted a 25-yard field goal on the first drive of the half to make it a one-score game. Lonergan found Thevenin on a 19-yard touchdown pass on a wheel route to tie the game at 23-23 with four minutes left in the quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER
Thevenin added a seven-yard rushing score with just under 13 minutes remaining in the game, giving Rutgers its first lead of the game at 30-23. Later in the quarter, RB Antwan Raymond punched it in from two yards away to make it 37-23.

Maryland scored with 2:17 remaining to pull within one possession, but the RU defense forced a turnover on downs to seal the victory.
