Scarlet Knights post a pair of top-50 finishes
MADISON, Wis. ā Rutgers cross country competed at the 2026 Big Ten Championships on Friday, Oct. 30 at the Zimmerman Championship Course on the campus of Wisconsin. The Scarlet Knights posted a pair of individual top-50 finishes as Gavin Rossi led the men's squad and Lorena David paced the women's team.

Rossi made his Big Ten Championships debut, finishing 40th overall with a time of 23:55.8, while David posted her best individual finish at the conference championship, placing 47th overall in 20:48.7.

"Overall, it was a decent day at Big Ten Championships," said Associate Head Coach Nicol Starkes. "Both the men and women moved up well during their races. Gavin and Lorena ran great to lead the teams, both placing in the top 50. We're looking forward to making the adjustments we need to our race plans and executing at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet in two weeks."

Adding to the men's score on the 8k race course was Micah Lawson who placed 70th in 24:25.0, followed by Stephen Kyvelos in 85th with a time of 24:45.5 and Maan Patel in 86th place in 24:45.7. Jay Adimala rounded out the group with a time of 25:02.9 to finish 98th.

The women's squad placed 15th overall, the best team finish since the conference expanded to 18 teams. Kelseigh O'Neil added to the team score, finishing in 100th with a time of 21:33.8. She was joined by Sofia Condron (102nd, 21:35.6), Maeli Gleason (103rd, 21:38.3) and Daphne Roskowski (126th, 22:04.1).

The Scarlet Knights will take a two-week break from competition and return to action for the 2026 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, Nov. 13 on the Lehigh campus in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
