PISCATAWAY, N.J. ā Rutgers football P Jakob Anderson has been named to the 2026 Ray Guy Award Midseason Watch List, the Augusta Sports Council announced Thursday. The Ray Guy Award honors the nation's best FBS punter.
In 23 attempts, Anderson has averaged 44.1 yards with a net punt of 42.0. That includes seven fair catches forced, five downed inside the 20 and four punts of at least 50 yards with a long of 70. The unit has not allowed a return so far this season.
The Aussie was previously recognized to the Ray's 8 on Oct. 5 after pinning three inside the 20 with a long of 57 yards against Indiana. He also completed a pass for 40 yards, and a first down, on a fake and blasted a career-long 70-yard punt versus USC.
Anderson has forced a fair catch on 53-of-106 career attempts with 16 punts of at least 50 yards and 30 downed inside the 20 in 32 games overall for the Scarlet Knights. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2025.
A communication major, Anderson is a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten honoree and claimed a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The Ray Guy Award, won by Rutgers' Adam Korsak in 2022, evaluates punters on their overall statistics and contribution to the team. Particular emphasis is placed on the following statistics; net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line and percentage of punts not returned. Ten semifinalists will be revealed Nov. 13.
The Scarlet Knights are back in action Saturday at Wisconsin. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET/3:15 p.m. local on Big Ten Network.
