- With a 2-0 count to lead off the game, Rohwer connected for her fifth home run of the year for the 1-0 edge.
- The Hoosiers, however, punched back in the same manner in the bottom half, but it would be a three-run home run to the hosts in front and stay in front. Aly VanBrandt led off with a double to right-center, Alex Cooper walked and then Avery Parker belted a three-run dinger off the scoreboard in left for Indiana to go ahead 3-1. Kelsey Hoekstra stepped up to send three of the next four Hoosiers down looking to end the inning.
- Indiana cashed in three more runs in the third, extending its lead to 6-1. After the Hoosiers kicked off their at-bat with a walk and a single, Madalyn Strader doubled down the right field line for two runs. Alli Gavin would later score Strader on a sac fly to left.
