Sephora Ford: All-American in Platform Diving

ATLANTA – Rutgers' divers completed their three days of competition at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, competing on the Platform. Sephora Ford earned All-American Status for the second straight season to highlight the day, giving RU two All-American divers after Katerina Hoffman secured the status on Friday.
Ford scored a 260.50 to place 16th, securing the final Second Team All-American spot. It was her second straight season as an All-American in the event. Last season, she finished as a Second Team All-American on Platform by finishing 15th.
A team captain, she was the Zone A Champion on platform and previously reached the podium in the event at the Big Ten Championships, finishing sixth.
Bailee Sturgill also competed for RU, improving her finish from last season in the event. Sturgill scored a 244.05 to place 23rd overall. Sturgill previously finished in second place on Platform at NCAA Zones. The sophomore was competing on all three boards at the NCAAs for the second consecutive season, with her best finish last year coming on Platform (25th).
Both Ford and Sturgill wrapped up their third day of NCAA competition, competing in all three events. Additionally, Rutgers had an All-American in diving on Friday, with Katerina Hoffman earning Second Team All-American status on 3-Meter. Rutgers was sending a diver to the NCAAs for the fifth straight year.
