
Burtis & Rowher With HRs In Game Two Setback With No. 7 UCLA

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers softball dropped game two of the series with No. 7 UCLA on Sunday night, 13-3, in front of another packed house at the RU Softball Complex.
Baileigh Burtis made it back-to-back contests with a home run while Sam Rohwer collected her team-leading eighth home run of the season.
The Bruins upped its win streak to 21-straight and upped its mark to 27-3 overall and 8-0 in Big Ten play. The Scarlet Knights, meanwhile, dropped to 16-14 and 3-5 in league action.

| STATISTICALLY SPEAKING |
- Sophomore Baileigh Burtis, who hit the upgraded RU Softball Complex's first home run in game one on Saturday night, went yard for the second straight night. It marked her fourth home run of the season and rounded out the night 2-for-2 from the plate.
- Scoring on Burtis' home run was freshman catcher Etta Garofalo.
- Junior Sam Rohwer gave Rutgers its seventh game of the season with two or more home runs.

- UCLA generated three runs in the first inning. The bases were loaded for a Bri Alejandra sac fly, while Ramsey Suarez added an RBI single and Aleena Gracia knocked in a pair of runs off a double.
- Another four more came across for the Bruins in the second on home runs as both Jordan Woolery and Alejandra both had two-run shots.
- The Bruins extended their lead to 8-0 in the fourth. With runners on the corners, a Kaniya Bragg ground out at short was able to score pinch runner Rylee Pinedo and Alejandra pushed across another run on a single thru the left side.
- RU got onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning as Baileigh Burtis made it back-to-back games with a two-run blast over the wall in left.
- Sam Rohwer followed with a home run to lead off the fifth to keep the game going.
- UCLA, however, added another three runs in the sixth for the eventual run-rule win. Megan Grant led off with a solo home run, while Soo-Jin Berry was able to collect an RBI single and Bragg scored on a miscue.

The Rutgers-UCLA series finale takes place on Monday at 6 p.m. at the RU Softball Complex in front of the BTN cameras for a second-straight night. Admission is free.
