
O’Sullivan, Eucker Set School Records at Rutgers Relays

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field posted a pair of school records on Senior Day at the Rutgers Relays Saturday, April 11 at the Bauer Track and Field Complex. Pole vaulter Brian O'Sullivan broke the school record for the second time this season, while Alianna Eucker set a new mark in the javelin, besting her previous top throw in the event.
"Always great to compete at home," said Bobby Farrell, director of track & field and cross country. "We had some great performances. It was also nice to celebrate the seniors and recognize all our alumni that came back."
O'Sullivan edged the record he previously broke last month in Tampa, clearing 5.56m (18' 2.75") to win the event. Eucker also broke a record that she had established last season, winning the javelin with a throw of 51.43m (168' 8").
On the track, Rutgers went 1-2-3 in the 100-meter dash led by Shamali Whittle who ran 10.13, followed by Daniel Duncan in second in 10.31 and Greg McQueen in third in 10.34. Andrew Boakye ran a time of 21.28 to finish third in the 200-meter, while Gabriel Rodriguez placed second in the 800-meter in 1:56.72.
Jack Moran finished second in the 5,000-meter in 14:50.21, followed by Tommy Jendryka in third in 15:12.25.
Zach Love and Donavan Anderson took the top two spots in the long jump with a pair of performances good for the top 10 all-time list. Love won the event with fourth all-time leap of 7.84m (25' 8.75"), while Anderson placed second with a jump of 7.75m (25' 5.25") that ranks sixth all-time.
Andrew Krall won the hammer with a throw of 62.88m (206' 3") and Shawn Brady placed third in the discus with a throw of 52.42m (171' 11"). Brady also finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 15.72m (51' 7").
On the women's side, Malina Bohlmann and Riley Brazier completed the 1-2-3 finish in the javelin as Bohlmann placed second with a throw of 47.50m (155' 10"), followed by Brazier in third with a mark of 46.78m (153' 5").
Llyric Driscoll won the 100-meter hurdles with the third-best time in program history, running 13.62. She also finished first in the triple jump, winning the event with a leap of 12.50m (41' 0.25"), while Ayotunde Folawewo placed second with a jump of 12.11m (39' 8.75").
The Scarlet Knights also earned wins in the high jump, long jump and 3,000-meter steeplechase. Jenovia Logan finished first in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.76m (5' 9.25") and Paige Floriea placed first in the long jump with a distance of 6.18m (20' 3.5"). Emma Baeyens won the steeplechase in 11:31.16, a time that was good for No. 8 all-time, while Michaela Schlemo finished second in 11:45.67.
Sofia Condron placed second in the 5,000-meter with a time of 18:27.25 and Tey'ana Ames took second in the shot put with a distance of 15.03m (49' 3.75"). Rounding out the top performances on the track was a 1-2 finish in the 100-meter with Cynthia Boakye winning in 11.50, followed by Naylah Jones in second in 11.63. Sierra Latonnel finished second in the 200-meter in 24.31 and Sydney Nettles placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.99.
The Scarlet Knights will return to the Bauer Track and Field Complex next weekend for the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
