PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Six standouts from Rutgers wrestling – Ayden Smith (125), Joseph Olivieri (141), Andrew Clark (149), Anthony White (157), Lenny Pinto (174) and Remy Cotton (197) – were all named 2026 NCAA D1 Scholar All-Americans, announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
The six scholar All-Americans are the most for the program since it had seven in 2022, as the Scarlet Knights have produced 35 scholar All-Americans under head coach Scott Goodale. White earns the prestigious honor for the fourth time – a program first – while Clark is recognized for the third time. Cotton and Olivieri are now two-time honorees, and Pinto and Smith are first time scholar All-Americans.
RU enjoyed a success season in the classroom, as it produced a program-record 19 Winter Academic All-Big Ten selections. The program posted a 3.33 team GPA during the fall semester, also the highest mark for the team in its history.
Rutgers finished No. 11 in the final NWCA Coaches Poll for the second consecutive year. The Scarlet Knights closed the regular season on a six-match winning streak, which included the program's first-ever win over then-No. 6 Minnesota to help RU to its best regular-season Big Ten finish ever. Rutgers secured nine NCAA qualifiers, its most since 2016.
