
2026-27 Big Ten Wrestling Opponents Announced

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Big Ten Conference announced its opponent rotation for the 2026-27 season. Rutgers wrestling faces eight conference foes, including home matchups with No. 1 Penn State, No. 7 Iowa, Indiana and Northwestern.
The Scarlet Knights' road opponents include No. 5 Nebraska, No. 9 Minnesota, No. 19 Wisconsin and Maryland. Dates and times for all conference matches, as well as information on the rest of the 2026-27 schedule, will be released later.
Season ticket holders will be contacted in July to renew their plans for 2026-27. Those interested in season and group tickets are encouraged to fill out this ticket interest form.

RU's remaining schedule continues to be finalized. It was announced in May that Rutgers was selected to compete in the prestigious National Duals Invitational Dec. 12-13, 2026 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Scarlet Knights finished No. 11 in the final NWCA Coaches Poll for the second consecutive year in 2025-26. RU closed the regular season on a six-match winning streak, which included the program's first-ever win over then-No. 6 Minnesota to help Rutgers to its best regular season Big Ten finish. Under head coach Scott Goodale, Rutgers secured nine NCAA qualifiers, its most since 2016.
NCAA qualifiers Andrew Barbosa (165), Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) and Remy Cotton (197) are all set to return to the lineup next season, while NCAA qualifiers Daniel Herrera (Iowa State) and Brett Ungar (Cornell) are set to join the program in the fall.
The Scarlet Knights also welcome a loaded rookie class, which includes four-time NJSIAA state champion and 2026 World Team Trials runner-up Anthony Knox and U23 Freestyle Nationals runner-up Brandt Harer.
