PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field qualified a program record 28 athletes for the 2026 NCAA East First Round on Wednesday, May 27 through Saturday, May 30 in Lexington, Kentucky.
"A big goal of ours this season was to send a record number of athletes to NCAA's," said Bobby Farrell, director of cross country and track & field. "To be able to send 28 athletes is an exciting accomplishment. I'm very proud of all the hard work our coaches and athletes have put in to make it happen.
Live results of the East First Round are available here, while the competition will stream live on ESPN+. Qualifiers out of these East First Round will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships held June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.
This year's total surpasses the previous record of 22 established in 2024. The Scarlet Knights have continued to set records with their number of participants at the NCAA Regional beginning with a then-record of 19 in back-to-back years (2022, 2023).
