Women's Rowing Announces Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. ā Rutgers women's rowing has announced its fall schedule with the Scarlet Knights meeting Temple, traveling to the prestigious Head of the Charles in Boston and the annual Princeton Chase.

The Scarlet Knights' first fall event takes place on Oct. 3 against Temple on theĀ Schuylkill River, with racing finishing at the grandstands upstream of the Columbia Bridge.
Rutgers will send boats to the Head of the Charles, the largest three-day rowing event, featuring over 10,000 athletes and over 3000,000 spectators on Oct. 18. Racing will start near Boston University's DeWolfe Boathouse and finish at Christian A. Herter Park.
The fall wraps up on Oct. 1 with the Princeton Chase on Lake Carnegie. Last year's race featured seven nationally-ranked programs, including the Scarlet Knights, with Rutgers' Ā varsity 8A boat claiming victory.
Rutgers women's rowing finished the 2026 campaign ranked 11th in the final CRCA Poll with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Championships and a runner-up performance at the Big Ten Championships. At last year's NCAA's, the Scarlet Knights' Varsity 4 tied for the highest finish by a Rutgers boat with a fourth-place performance in the grand final, the Varsity 8 crossed in fifth in the petite final to take 11th overall and the Second Varsity 8 won the C final to place 13th overall. In capturing team silver for the second consecutive season at the Big Ten Championship last year, the Third Varsity 8 claimed gold, marking RU's title in the event and the fourth boat to win gold at the championships. RU's Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Fourth Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Second Varsity 4 and Third Varsity 4 all captured silver.
