Anthony Martin

Anthony Martin enters his fourth season with the Rutgers University equipment staff. He first started On The Banks in summer 2019. Primarily works with Men’s Basketball, Wrestling, Gymnastics, and Women’s Rowing.

Martin previously served as the Director of Equipment Services at Lafayette College from 2017-2019 and oversaw all varsity sports equipment, budgets, and logo usage with special emphasis on Football including team travel. Before Lafayette, Martin spent six years as the athletic equipment manager at Oregon State University serving as the equipment manager for all Olympic sports with a focus on men's and women's basketball and football. While there, Martin held a key role in the launch of Oregon State's new brand identity and worked to ensure proper logo usage at the Pac-12 school.

Prior to arriving at Oregon State, Martin was an intern with the Washington Capitals from 2009-10 and served as the primary locker room attendant at the Verizon Center. He got his start in hockey equipment at his alma mater, serving as the assistant equipment manager for the University of Michigan hockey team from 2008-09. From 2005-08, he also worked on the arena operations staff at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor.

A native of Wood-Ridge, NJ, Martin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management from the University of Michigan in 2009 and went on to earn his Master's degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University in 2010. 

Martin serves on the External Communications Committee for the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. He is AEMA certified and actively involved as he created the new logo and brand identity for the AEMA.  Also, Martin was awarded 2018 Equipment Director of the Year from Managers on a Mission.

Martin and his wife, Macall, reside in Kendall Park, NJ with their two children, Slade and Mox. They also have two rescues Great Danes, Penny and Pepper. Macall works as the Assistant Director of Athletics, Marketing & Community Relations at Princeton University.
